Live Blood Analysis Using Darkfield Microscopes

2009/4/22 20:40:34

Live blood analysis is possible when one is using darkfield microscopes. These experiments or tests are quite simple to conduct and critical in detecting serious health problems.

Fundamental Principles of Live Blood Analysis
In live blood analysis, a medical professional will take a drop of live blood from your finger. This will only cause you the tiniest amount of pain.

The blood specimen, however, will not be subjected to staining. Staining is a process used for highlighting important structures of specimens, particularly those that are difficult to see using bright field microscopes. Staining entails “killing” biological cells and that, of course, is contradictory to performing a live blood analysis. As such, bypassing the staining process requires the use of darkfield microscopes since they are capable of showing opaque or transparent specimen.

By using dark field microscopes, even the smaller particles of the blood specimen are illuminated and made visible. Generally, all living parts of the specimen become discernable and they can be simultaneously observed by both the medical professional and patient through a video system. A video camera will capture the images and these will be transferred to a connected monitor.

Live blood analysis enables professionals to detect the presence of any chronic health problem. It can even help people determine precisely the current stage of the disease or how far it has already progressed. If performed early, it may be the key to preventing the condition from worsening and even curing it entirely. All these are possible by examining just one drop of blood from the patient.

Why Live Blood Analysis is Possible Only by Using Darkfield Microscopes
In the past, live blood analysis wasn’t possible because the methods for observing blood samples then required killing blood cells. When bright field microscopes are in use, blood specimens have to be stained in order to make all essential parts of it discernible. When electron microscopes are used, electron beams, rather than just normal beams of light, are projected onto the sample, and these are unfortunately strong enough to kill the blood cells.

Thankfully, however, darkfield microscopes have been invented and consequently made it possible for medical professionals, scientists, and other interested researchers to study blood cells…alive.

With darkfield microscopes, samples are still technically stained but only in a very small degree and certainly small enough not to kill blood cells. With blood cells remaining alive and in motion, analyzing them has allowed researchers to obtain data that was otherwise impossible if they were already dead.

With the help of leading experts in darkfield microscopy and live cell analysis like Dr. Majid Ali, Dr. Gunther Enderlein, and researcher Gaston Naessans, biology has given way to a new subfield. Live cell analysis has allowed people to study biology as a holistic science because blood encompasses and touches everything inside the human body.

A darkfield microscope enables the parts and overall structure of a live blood cell to glow and shed off light. In a bright field microscope, light is projected directly to the sample, but since majority of the parts of live blood cells are opaque, the light beam is still unable to make them visible. With a dark field microscope, light comes from the side and with the help of the black background, the light allows them to be visible by providing contrast. Using a special type of oil immersion lenses on the objective also greatly improves the resolution of the image.

The black background is necessary so that light coming from the darkfield microscope passes around its objective rather than beaming directly into the sample. Through this, the naked eye is able to discern the presence and details of the live blood cells since it isn’t overwhelmed by background light.

What Kind of Data Can Be Derived from Live Blood Analysis?
Live blood analysis using darkfield microscopes allow researchers to analyze all the factors affecting a person’s overall health, based on the condition of live blood cells taken from the patient. It also allows researchers to determine the best course of action for any problems that may have been detected.

Depending on the condition of the live blood cells, various types of data may emerge from studying them. This includes but is not limited to the following: digestive problems, fungal infections, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, parasite infestation, heavy metal toxicity, liver spleen stress, atherosclerotic predisposition, indications of a weak immune system, and possible tendencies to having cancer.

The science of studying live blood analysis using darkfield microscopes is still relatively new but in spite of this, it has already provided many interesting clues about how the human body works.
